Karagam Bala is a renowned folk art organization dedicated to preserving, performing, and passing on the rich traditions of Tamil Nadu’s cultural heritage. Founded on December 23, 1987, at St. Mary’s School, the journey began with a strong vision to keep traditional folk dances alive and relevant for future generations.
Founded by S. P. Bala Subramanian, the organization has grown from a humble beginning into a respected cultural platform. Recognized for excellence, Karagam Bala has won multiple awards and has been featured in numerous articles, earning appreciation for its contribution to folk arts.
Future Plan
With a forward-looking vision, Karagam Bala aims to expand globally by establishing international dance schools, taking the spirit of Tamil folk art beyond borders.
